Manufacturer & distributor FAQs: UDIVitals
These are the most frequently asked questions we get from biologic manufacturers and distributors about how UDIVitals helps with the COVID vaccine rollout.
Why do manufacturers and distributors need to use a vaccine management solution
The COVID vaccine consists of two doses that have to be taken several days apart depending on the manufacturer.
This means tracking patient details, vaccine type, the number of days that have passed, and using a vial of the vaccine that has not been open for more than 6 hours, expired, or stored at the wrong temperature.
While the vaccine may be safe on departure, manufacturers may find that vaccine storage and distribution are not up to standard and increase vaccine waste.
What manufacturer data does UDIVitals capture and communicate?
UDIVitals captures and communicates the chain of custody from the moment vaccine supplies are ordered through the time they are used, wasted or returned. UDIVitals uses the manufacturer's barcode to capture the product data (lot number, manufacturer, NDC, etc.), and validate this information against the FDA's recall and adverse event databases to ensure the supplies received are viable for patient use.
This real-time data can be made available to manufacturers and distributors with a subscription to our database.
How long does UDIVitals take to communicate data from the manufacturer to healthcare facilities?
Information captured by UDIVitals is made instantly available in UDIClearinghouse, our data warehouse.
Do you provide training for the UDIVitals component of the barcode scanning application?
We ensure providers are fully trained on CDC regulations for vaccine safety, how to use our application and how to report adverse events experienced by patients while being observed.
How much does adding UDIVitals cost?
UDIVitals is a subscription-based application, offered at a tiered pricing model that is dependent on the volume of vaccines administered. UDIClearinghouse is also provided on a subscription basis and is tiered in price by manufacturer volume.
